NOTE: This Fly-in Tour is presented with land arrangements price only. This allows you more flexibility and convenience when planning your trip. This also allows you to use your Frequent Flying Points and fly on your own. We will provide air schedules and make air reservations for the group if you desire to fly with the group and make certain you receive the lowest air fare available at that time. Let us know your desires at the time of booking.  We anticipate air cost to be $400+/- per person roundtrip on Southwest Airlines.

A deposit of $100.00 per person is due at time of booking.

Final payment is due by May 3, 2017. 

 

Schedule

Day 1 - Wednesday, June 21, 2017.  Fly from San Antonio to Seattle, Washington - Tour Begins.  Our coach driver and motor coach will meet us at the airport.  Your scenic tour through the Pacific Northwest and California opens with an overnight stay in one of America's most picturesque cities, Seattle.  Enjoy a trip up the Space Needle, the iconic landmark of the great Pacific Northwest, for spectacular views of the city from the observation deck.  Welcome dinner provided at the hotel.  Mayflower Park Hotel. (D)

Day 2 - Thursday, June 22, 2017.  Seattle - Olympia - Portland, Oregon.  Breakfast provided at the hotel.  Embark on a sightseeing tour with our local step-on-guide of the "Emerald City," including the colorful restored waterfront area, historic Pioneer Square, and lively Pike Place Market, a famous fish and vegetable market dotted with restaurants and shops. Lunch on your own.   Departing Seattle, travel south through Olympia and stop at the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center. Learn about the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens, the legendary blast, an eruption so colossal that it spewed ash into 11 states, as well as the history and geology of the state park.  Continue to Portland, Oregon for a two-night stay in North America's "Best Big City." Day 3 - Friday, June 23, 2017.  Portland - Cascade Mountains - Portland.  Breakfast provided at the hotel.  Load the coach and depart with our local step-on-guide and drive along the Mt. Hood loop route to the lush Columbia River Gorge. It's a day of sightseeing you will never forget. Mt. Hood dominates the horizon as you leave the valley and enter the slopes of the Cascade Mountains.  Lunch on your own.  Discover the awe-inspiring landscapes on a tour of the magnificent Columbia River Gorge and the Bonneville Dam, where you will get a guided tour and learn about its fascinating hydropower and history.  This evening, relax on Portland's premier dining and sightseeing cruise on the Portland Spirit. Enjoy a vibrant setting enhanced by dazzling city sights and city lights, festive cuisine and live performances. Glide along the Willamette River and Lake Oswego for an unforgettable and delightful evening.  Red Lion Hotel on The River. (B, D)

Day 4 - Saturday, June 24, 2017.  Portland - Willamette Valley - Newport - North Bend.  Breakfast provided at the hotel.  Load the coach and depart the hotel for a scenic journey through what was the Promised Land for many pioneers during the days of the Oregon Trail.  Along the way visit the Evergreen Aviation Museum, home to the famous Spruce Goose.  Enjoy travelling through the Willamette Valley which contains some of the most fertile agricultural soils of Oregon and nurtures vegetables, flowers, herbs, nuts and vineyards.  Visit Yamhill Vineyard and enjoy some wine tasting.  Lunch provided.  Next, head to the coastal town of Newport for a brief stop.  Enjoy Newport's Historic Bayfront before traveling along some of the country's most beautiful coastline and the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.  Dinner provided at the hotel.  Red Lion Hotel Coos Bay.  (B, L, D)

Day 5 - Sunday, June 25. 2017.  North Bend - Bandon State Natural Area - Redwood National Park - Eureka.  Breakfast provided at the hotel.  Load the coach and depart the hotel to begin your day with a drive to Bandon State Natural Area. You will be amazed by the scenery along the striking Beach Loop with sights such as Bandon Rocks and Face Rock, known to many from the American Indian legend.  Brief stop in the picturesque coastal town of Gold Beach, known for amazing wildlife including bald eagles, cormorants, seals and blue heron.  Continuing south, enter the redwood country of California. Travel through the famous Redwood National Park, home to some of the world's tallest trees. Inside the park, get up-close to these trees that rise to nearly 300 feet tall and see for yourself why the sun seldom hits the ground. Lunch on your own.  Visit Trees of Mystery: Located in the heart of the Redwood Empire, at the very center of Redwood National and State Parks, Trees of Mystery is California's premier nature attraction on the North coast! For over 65 years they have been educating, entertaining, and introducing visitors from the world over to this awe-inspiring natural treasure. Welcome to the California Redwoods!  Arriving in Eureka, enjoy a delightful tour through this historic timber and fishing village and witness the Victorian architecture of Old Town.  Photo stop to see the grand Carson Mansion, the most photographed example of Victorian architecture in the World and once the home of a West Coast lumber baron.  Dinner provided at the hotel.  Red Lion Hotel Eureka. Day 6 - Monday, June 26, 2017.  Eureka - San Francisco.  Breakfast provided at the hotel.  Load the coach and continue your journey through the majestic beauty and splendid grandeur of the Redwood Forest, including the "Avenue of the Giants," a scenic highway loaded with towering redwoods.  Continue to San Francisco.  Lunch on your own in Sausalito.  Sausalito has served as a Bay Area port, a shipbuilding yard during the war, an artist¹s colony, and the home of many a speakeasy during prohibition. This tiny town built along the hillsides of the Marin headlands overlooks the bay facing San Francisco. Due to the large hills at it¹s back and its orientation relative to the ocean breezes, Sausalito is spared from most of the Bay area summer fog. Thus, homes, restaurants, and bayside promenade are built to take advantage of the incredible bay views.  Photo stop of Golden Gate Bridge.  Then drive over the legendary Golden Gate Bridge and arrive in "the City by the Bay," San Francisco for a 2 - night stay.  Tonight, gather for dinner at a restaurant on Pier 39 which offers exceptional views of San Francisco Bay and the Bay Bridge.  Hotel Zephyr at Fisherman's Wharf near Pier 39.  (B, D)

Day 7 - Tuesday, June 27, 2017.  City Tour of San Francisco.  After breakfast provided at the IHOP adjacent to the hotel, load the coach and depart with our local step-on-guide for a sightseeing tour of the city...hear stories of the city's past and present as you drive past its famous landmarks including Fisherman's Wharf, Twin Peaks, Chinatown, Golden Gate Bridge, Treasure Island, Golden Gate Park, Lombard Street, Union Square Civic Center.  Lunch on your own.  The remainder of your day is at your leisure to explore San Francisco independently.  For a true local experience, ride the famed cable cars up and down San Francisco's thrilling hills.  Dinner provided at the Oriental Pearl Restaurant in China Town.  Hotel Zephyr at Fisherman's Wharf near Pier 39.  (B, D)

Day 8 - Wednesday, June 28, 2017.  Travel to Yosemite National Park and Glacier Park Tour.  After breakfast provided at the IHOP adjacent to the hotel, load the coach and depart for Yosemite National Park. Upon arrival at Yosemite, free time for exploring the lodge area. Sack lunch provided.  Then enjoy the Glacier Point Tour.  Virtually every visitor who comes to Yosemite National Park spends at least some time at Glacier Point, drawn to the breathtaking views. On this four-hour tour, you'll go from Yosemite Valley to Glacier Point-a 3,200-foot elevation gain.  Be sure to bring your camera to capture awe-inspiring photos of Yosemite's famous waterfalls and the distant High Sierra mountains.  Free time to visit the Ansel Adams Gallery and view famous landscape photographs.  Dinner provided at the Yosemite Valley Lodge.  Yosemite Cedar Lodge. Day 9 - Thursday, June 29, 2017.  Travel to San Francisco International Airport - Tour ends, Fly from San Francisco to San Antonio.  Breakfast provided at the hotel restaurant.  Load the coach and depart for the San Francisco International Airport.  Your tour ends today, but the memories will stay with you forever.
